Needed a replacement to my old Nikon.. after some research I decided on this model because of its Size, wanted something light weight, that can fit in my purse, and not weigh me down while we are on long trips .This is a really nice compact digital camera that mimics your classic style look and feel. It’s very comfortable to use because of its size and weight.I wanted something that had high megapixels but didn't break the bank too.So far this camera has been a big winner for me!! because you really get a lot in a small package. You get a standard camera that shoots up to 36mp which is pretty impressive, for a camera at this price point. This camera also does pretty nice video as well. It's a great camera for both kids or adults who are looking to get into photography or making videos as well..The 16x is extremely impressive, amazingly clear and crisp picture quality, these digital cameras have really come along way over the years! The battery life is also pretty impressive I got three days of use on 1 charge! And also fully charged us pretty quickly! It came beautifully packaged so it would also make a great gift for this time of the year as well.overall extremely impressed with This camera, highly recommended! My Niece loved itI bought this camera because I needed something that took better pictures than really old cell phone which which had a very low resolution camera, something like 5 MP. However, even at 36 MP this camera was not really much better. This may be a good starter camera for someone or anyone who needs a compact camera but the quality of today's cell phone cameras well surpasses it. Furthermore, the camera has many of functions but very few of them are explained in the manual. It does come with two rechargeable batteries and a USB cable which is nice but the manual says nothing about charging. If you need something in addition to your cell phone camera, please skip this one.In 2021 more photos are taken using smartphones instead of using digital cameras. So why buy a digital camera? Because our homeschooling requires our 2nd grader to take photos. I am not that comfortable or afford to have him use our 12 pro max phone and risk having it drop and break. This small tech wonder does the trick under $100. Simple to operate camera that snaps both outdoor and indoor pics. This is light weight and doesn’t take up much room at all but does have a nice size screen to view photos taken. The quality of the photos have turned out great!**EDIT**This is fine for general shots. Would be a great camera for kids. It is NOT good for anything where you want to be able to see the details on something (like product labels). This photo is in "AUTO" mode, at 36 MP. Camera is positioned about 16-18" above the keyboard. As you can see, most of the keys are illegible. We'll be looking for a replacement. We needed a camera to take pre-shipment pictures in an environment that can get rough. I wanted something cheap enough to replace often if needed, but with photo quality good enough for record keeping. This meets both requirements.I'll admit, I was a bit alarmed by the warning that the camera can get hot during use, but we don't really use it for extended periods, so we haven't run into that.Photo transfer is easy. We don't generally use the card reader, rather just transfer directly to computer when we have it plugged in.I thought this would be a perfect camera for my kids to begin taking pictures, but the quality is not good at all. The screen is small and very dim. You can only take one picture as well without buying a memory card, so make sure you get one if you get this camera. I would spend a little more money and get a better camera that atleast had better quality.Great picturesMy daughter is not quite the age where we want to get her a smart phone, but she is getting in to a deep love of photography using mine. Lol but not lol. I didn't want to give in on the phone fight so we decided to go the digital camera route.I will say these far trump the ones I had when they first came out. The picture quality is excellent even when we blow them up on her laptop to bigger resolution. And she can zoom pretty well in the distance without losing too much quality. It's really self explanatory and lightweight enough for her to carry around in her hoodie pocket. And she's really having a good time with the settings for light and contrast.Video recording works well enough but the divx files won't play without additional codec which are not specified so its either hunt for codecs or convert them to another format. But volume must be very low or the internal mic is easily overdriven leaving audio distortions so works better as a webcam (which it can do) than a standalone video camera. However still images are too often blurry even when mounted on a tripod. See the attached photo as an example. The camera has no mechanical autofocus and that feature is needed but also completely absent through the firmware.Purchased as a first camera for our 9 year old, it quickly malfunctioned several times on Christmas morning, and "froze" - requiring removal of the battery to hard reset the device. We sent it back as it was not working properly. Aside from the actual performance, it appears to be cheaply made & looks more like a toy camera. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for.Picture quality is definitely not 1080.. pixelated and not clear quality through the screen... cute lil camera tho .. sucks to have to order the sd card seperateChild used as a starter camera. Great quality for price and starter camera for children.
